Precision made continuous diamond bench stones, with superior flatness and carefully graded mono-crystalline diamonds. The accuracy of the Bench Stones makes them particularly suitable for flatting-off the backs of plane irons and the back faces of chisels as well as general sharpening purposes. Solid plate steel with all over nickel plating, 150mm x 50mm or 200 x 75mm.

really great but.....Excellent sharpening stone. Miles better than the cheap ones available and perfectly flat. This is important when 'lapping' chisels, plane irons. Essential if your going to get a really sharp edge. I only bought the smaller version which performs fantastically but..... it is a tall order to get your plane iron flat (assuming its not been done before!) perfect with this grit. Ideally you will need the courser grit first polishing off with this one. Much better than the wet stones which DON'T stay flat, requiring something like this to flatten them! I did try (unsuccessfully) to flatten a Stanley No.4 smoothing plane base. It could be done if you had 3 hours to do it in though. After sharpening with this stone I manged to get an edge so sharp i could get continuous tobacco thin shavings from my No.4 that you could see through. Sharp enough for me.

Absolutely superb diamond whetstonesThese were recommended by a friend, who keeps his cutting equipment - knives, and plane blades - razor-sharp. He put me on to these, when I asked him what he was using. They are expensive, but should last a lifetime. I bought both the "Fine" and the "Extra Fine". They also manufacture one for sharpening Ceramic knives", although I suspect the "Extra Fine" would probably do a good job on them.
