When Jet set out to create the Elite range of machinery, they produced a total package of engineering, precision, durability and safety that far exceeded market standards. The lathes come with spindle run-outs so low as to be almost immeasurable, plus hardening and grinding each gear in the headstock. Bed castings are made from certified Meehanite with bedways hardened to 70 HRC and coated with Turcite-B for outstanding wear and low friction characteristics. The E-1236VS lathe is the smallest model, so is compact enough for almost any workshop, but brings a standard of accuracy normally only found in much larger machines. The inverter drive system powers the spindle through a 2-speed gearbox, giving speeds on low of 40-365rpm and on high of 165-2,000rpm. A 150mm 3-jaw chuck is mounted in the D-14 spindle, the spindle itself having a 5MT taper and a 38mm bore. A very comprehensive list of standard equipment includes a 2-axis DRO, a 254mm faceplate, steady and follow rests with ball bearings, quick change tool post with four holders, coolant system, interlocked chuck guard and LED CNC style lighting. Perfectly suited to Education, engineering workshops, prototype manufacture and so on, with accuracy and durability at top class levels.
