Perfection Framing

Not what I expected

I'll start by saying I have a lot of Lie Nielson tools and I just love them. The quality is awesome. I bought this expecting the same. It is, as you would expect beautifully made but the cutter is just a shop-bought countersink drill bit. It tears out a hole just the same as one you would by for £5. I was really disappointed with this. I contacted Lie Nielson and they confirmed they make the handle but the bit is just bought in. They did offer a full refund. I've sharpened it on a waterstone to the sharpest I can get it but at best it cuts a raggedy hole. I thought Lie Nielson had come up with some super way of hand countersinking but they haven't. I don't like to complain or give out but if there was a review pointing this out I could have saved myself the bother. In fairness the tool looks amazing and feels great and will create a hole...just not as nice a hole as you would expect.
