Body cast from fine ductile iron, manganese bronze frog mounted in the famous Bedrock style, and polished cherry wood handles. Fitted with an A2 cryogenically treated 3mm(1/8") thick 50mm(2") wide blade, 355mm(14") long, weighing in at 2.5kg(5 1/2lbs).

Planely Fantastic

Yes it's expensive but worth every penny without question! I hand plane a lot, mostly tropical hardwoods and have well fettled old planes but the Lie Nielsen is a cut above, no blade chatter and feels smooth and precise.
Almost no slack in the blade adjustment wheel is great and allows for fast accurate setting.

The plane was perfectly set up from the get go and ready to eat wood.

Do it, you know you want to :-)
