N.B. Each kit is supplied as the components only and does not include the material / blank.
A simple kit comprising a 7mm diameter brass tube with a decorative stud at one end and a top entry hole fitting for a cord at the other. The top can be unscrewed allowing the cord to be inserted and knotted within the fitting. This is a great way of using up your offcuts to produce some unusual designs for light pulls and blind pulls. Our project kit blanks would make a great choice of material for producing some colourful designs. Choose from gold or chrome finish. Overall length 53mm when assembled.

Good kit - needs hole enlargingThese work well and are very neat. The unscrewing fastening is neat and the finish good, though the supplied brass tube is fairly short. A minor niggle is that the hole in the brass end for the light pull cord is too small for the standard UK cord and needs drilling out (to 7/64 in my case). But this is quite simple in a pillar drill with a standard holder for the brass piece.

Nice for finishing off light pullsI used this product as a nice finish to my turned light pulls, You only need drill about half of an inch each end to fit these lovely little ends, and fitting a pull cord couldn't be easier. The top unscrews to fit the cord and hey presto it's done. Brilliant idea and a nice finish to your work. Makes the light pulls look really well finished and professional. Needless to say I will be ordering more. Another good thing is that you do not have to drill all the way through the blank, which takes the worry of going off course with the drill.

Nice use for offcutsI like this kit. This is a nice way to practice new shapes and techniques with the chisel. I only use my off cuts when I make them as I have loads I never know what to do with - too small to be useful and too pretty to throw away. The kit is well made. You can shorten the tube length with a hacksaw and then barrel trim it as normal for the shorter offcuts and use barrels from other kits such as the European and 7mm slimline kits for different lengths. I had to drill a larger hole in the top for my bathroom light pull - careful not to crush the part you are drilling in the vice and wrap paper towel around it to protect the plating. If it does squash a bit just squash it gently back in the other direction. Wear safety specs for the drilling as small bits of metal will almost definitely fly up towards your face. I love my new bathroom light pull I made. If it was being made for a lamp or bedside light for example I imagine the string would be smaller and no drilling would be needed.
