At only 225mm long this is a very compact drill. The BHP458 has screwdriving, drilling and hammer drilling capabilities. It certainly packs a punch; the 4-pole motor develops a maximum torque of 91Nm. Not surprisingly it comes with a long auxiliary handle (depth stop included).
Such a powerful machine requires all metal gears and a 2-speed aluminium gear box. The all-steel industrial keyless chuck allows single handed bit changing. This tool can cope with tough conditions and harsh environments, indoors or outdoors. Twin bright LEDs above the switch illuminate the working area. It has the power to drill a 65mm diameter hole in wood using a solid bit or drive a 120mm holesaw.
As part of the Makita LXT range the BHP458 uses Makita 18V Lithium Ion batteries.
Supplied with side handle and depth stop, body only (without battery and charger).
