Safety Enhanced

I'll get this off my chest first: I've only played with it so far, I have not used it in anger.
That said, it's a Makita, and it's at a very good price point. Most significantly, it has a flappy-paddle on/off switch. This is a serious safety enhancement, because if you get a grab while using a heavy-duty wood-carving disk and you drop the tool, you want the tool to stop immediately. (And I don't mean because the disk could damage itself on the concrete floor.)
Some have written that the flappy-paddle takes a bit of getting used to. I found that too - it took me all of about 10 seconds to master it, after which I found it much easier to use than the more common switch type.
So, it's safer, and it's easier to use. What's not to like? It could have had a soft start: as it is, it starts with a jolt. I therefore marked it down one point on features.
