These blades really will cut through 5 inches of hardwood. I use them in a cordless Makita jigsaw, mostly for cutting through fallen boughs for firewood. I've been using them for years and they last really well. (Don't bother with cheap imitations, of any size. False economy.)
Saves taking the chainsaw down to the woods for smaller jobs.
