Description

In Detail

Mirka Abranet® is a revolutionary abrasive material, offering dust free sanding with virtually no clogging. The open mesh design reduces clogging to almost zero when these abrasive belts are used with a suitable extractor. The Abranet® construction makes dust extraction highly efficient. It is incredibly durable and can last up to three times longer when compared to many conventional abrasives, making it very cost effective. These belts are bi-directional, so when the sanding performance falls off, simply reverse the belt for a fresh edge. The structure requires much less pressure and results in a very consistent surface finish. These abrasive belts are suitable for soft wood, hard wood, paint removal and many other materials.

Lasted 5 minutes on oak!

I wont bother with this brand again, the idea is good but the quality of manufacture is very poor. I put it on my belt sander, it was tight but went on ok. Then when sanding a flat oak board with no nails or other fixings I felt a clicking on every belt revolution, it was the join on the belt where one of the corners had lifted from the joining strip. 10 seconds later the belt snapped. My last belt, a B&Q own-brand one, lasted for months and it was a fraction of the cost of these.
