In Detail

An alloy mitre clamp which allows the joint to be held firmly in position whilst either the glue dries or a pin is driven home. We won't pretend these clamps are the heaviest duty in the world, but they do the job they are designed for well, and purchasing one for each corner of a frame won't break the bank. Timber capacity is 16 mm deep and 75 mm wide.

Had to return them : (

Going by the reviews I thought, got to get some of these (4), they'll be good for assembling my cabinets. On receipt I clamped two boards in one and couldn't believe it. The boards were 90 degrees horizontally but not vertically, pretty bad in my opinion. I thought, better check the other three. They were all the same, I was pretty disappointed, the reviews said they were great? After having a think about it, these clamps are die cast and having worked in injection moulding the mould would have a taper on the vertical surfaces to aid release from the mould which explains why the fixed face of the clamp doesn't hold a board vertically square. I placed two engineers squares in the jaws and sure enough they aren't square vertically. Had to return them.

Good quality, good for mitre joints, but also great for holding pieces while marking dovetails.
Easier to use than strap clamps and you can glue one mitre at a time and have fine adjustment, get at least two.

truly brilliant

it may say ' light use ' in the product description but these clamps are tough little buggers. i use them for truing up joints with 12,16 and 18mm plywood. yes, they are surprisingly strong. buy a minimum of 2 at least. well worth it.
