With its rich, warm copper finish and dark antique highlights, the details of this pen will surely impress. This pen captures the romance and adventure of old sailing ships. It has a captivating scene engraved on the tip of a grand tall ship, while a captain's wheel and compass embellishes the end. Nautical rope accents can be found throughout and encircling the detailed anchor clip which, given its history, is considered a symbol of well-grounded hope. Easy to make and features a Parker™ style refill. Requires 3/8" drill. When using a mandrel to make these pens, the 101665 Bushing Set will be required.

Poorly finished engravingThis was an urgent sold order for a birthday present. I ordered it through Axminster because of the urgency and I know I can trust them to deliver on time, which they did. However, due to limited time, I made the mistake of making the body before checking the fittings. Unfortunately the finish of the engraving is really rough and feels awful when held in a normal writing position. I would think extended use would actually make the user’s fingers sore. I felt obliged to point this out to the purchaser and after checking how it felt in use, she rejected the pen. Shame really, it looked really good when finished (I made the body in Teak to keep the nautical theme) but totally impractical as a writing implement.

Nice looking penVery easy to make with a single tube. Looks nice with the added details of an engraved ship near the nib and anchor clip. I made this with Olive wood and had a lot of positive feedback. Will be buying more.
