For small projects

I use this for small cut-out projects with board and thin wood. It's ideal for that sort of thing. It's not designed as a full-sized scroll saw, it's for making miniature things really, and for that it works well. I don't think it's noisy - it's about the same as a sewing machine. Blade is a little hard to get plumb vertical, but it's not too hard. If you're careful to let the blade do the cutting and not push too hard on it, it works fine.

Minor gripes are that the metal guide doesn't extend the full length of the cutting area - so using the angle guide isn't as easy as it should be. Also the plastic tube for the air flow was too big to fit as shown in the pictures - plus there were no instructions for the how and why of this.

Works well.

This is not a conventional scroll saw. It has a scroll type mechanism but has parallel and angled guides which most scroll saws don't. Great model makers saw.. That is 12 inch so you are limited to 24 total cut, if you see what I mean . Blade change fiddly but much the same as the spiralux saw that it replaces. If you make model aircraft or boats it's definitely worth a look.

a bit lightwieght

Have to agree with Douglas i got it as a small scroll saw for my grandson. I am very experienced with scroll saws.
first the noise, unbelievable, the size to noise is incredible.
will cut very little.
I did everything I can think off and is useless
It will cut balsa wood but little else
.will contact axminster hope to send back

Very lightweight

This is a very very lightweight scroll saw. It says model making and that is its limit.
It cut out parts for model ship building on thin wood.
It is useless as a workshop scroll saw you would be unable to make toys using thicker wood.
First of all you will need to get better blades than supplied.
Other than thin wood ,3 mm , I have yet to find anything it will cut.
Very noisy to the point I am using ear defenders.
I really wish I had got a more powerful model.

Love it!!

very easy to use, versatile and cuts a decent depth too... what i really like though is the blade adjuster so you get 3 times the life out of each blade... not sure why anyone would find it too's a scroll saw... a motorised scroll saw
