Very poor timber stability spoils this product and make Sjobergs suspect.

I bought the Sjobergs storage unit together with the cabinet makers bench. I'm pretty disappointed with this product mainly due to the very poor stability of the timber. We all expect some movement in a timber product but the doors and draws on this have grown ridiculously in the space of just 6 weeks and that's during the summer - not over a long wet winter. I put the thing together and adjusted everything to have around 3mm parallel gaps. So far the doors have grown enough to have been adjusted twice, so that's about 6mm growth on something about 400m wide. They're no longer flat either and have a bow in each of about 4mm. All of the draws are fouling so can't be closed. The bigger lower draw has a bow of around 5 mm in each. The whole thing looks very sad. I'll need to take it apart and plane everything to get it to close again and then probably need to put braces across everything. Not good given the cost originally.
By comparison you can buy cheap flatpack bedroom furniture - consign it to the garage after a while and not see anything like this. So I'm scoring the whole unit down for value for money, and quality based on the cheap and unstable wood used. The coat of oil they use might have been better replaced with a proper lacquer coat. I'm wondering now what the bench will look like in 6 months time. Think carefully about buying this oiled wood from Sweden - it might be fine in your front room but is possibly suspect in a normal workshop. The storage unit is a non-starter really.
