Not great

I have had a hand drills before and this is not much different from any I have had. They never work as smoothly as you would hope and the pinions jam from time to time. The keyless chuck is not as good as the keyless chucks on electric drills either, so bits are not held as securely as you would hope.

Not remotely the quality I expected

I'd like to think this particular tool is a poor example of the model, but I rather doubt it is.
--- this drill so bad that it simply does not work! ---
That feels like an extraordinary thing to say about something so simple as a hand drill, but it's true. When I try to turn the handle, it jams every revolution, and If I try to tighten the chuck on a drill bit, the gears jump. I simply cannot get the torque. If I try to use it tightened as best I can, the gears jump and the drill bit slides within the chuck.
Your products and Stanley's products are normally good or excellent. Sorry, but this one is rubbish.
Axminster, you need very quickly to check the quality of this tool and, I suspect, remove it from sale quickly.
