Turning Tuesdays

This is your chance to see and talk about everything and anything woodturning, on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month between 10am and 4pm.

A member of the team will be available to talk turning, demonstrate and help with any queries or questions as well as giving you the chance to get hands on and have a go.

Whether you're a novice or experienced carver or simply interested in starting a new hobby, why not come along to our Carving Club? These free informal sessions provide an opportunity to try new tools and learn new techniques with helpful advice and guidance from other members and from the store team.

We meet every second Thursday between 1pm and 4pm and all materials and tools are provided. Plus there's free tea and coffee! We look forward to welcoming you soon.

At this national demonstration, our in-store experts demonstrate the latest range of quiet-running, oil free Swan Compressors. These hard-working, versatile machines can be used in many ways to make routine workshop tasks easier, quicker and more satisfying to complete. On the day, we’ll focus on the safe use of air nail guns and show just how compressors can be used in a variety of roles to tackle everyday DIY and decorative projects. If you’ve never worked ‘under pressure’ before, this is your chance!

We’ll provide all the materials, plenty of hands-on guidance - and protective wear to ensure a safe and rewarding learning experience for all.

High Wycombe Store - Turning Tuesday, Inside Out Turning

Turn Your Hand To New Skills - Every 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month experienced woodturners meet in-store to offer free guided sessions. Any level of experience will be welcomed by the group's friendly members.

This week one of the groups main demonstrators, Les, will do some inside out turning. Inside out turning is where you temporarily fix 4 blocks of wood together, so that you can then turn the centre section. The pieces are then separated, turned inside out and glued together, allowing you to then turn the outside of the piece. The end result is a vase with a hollow centre.
