Nikos specialises in turned and carved work, running a gallery and workshop in the historic tourist town of
Rethymno on the island of Crete, Greece.

Sittingbourne Store - Christmas Decoration Project - On The Scroll Saw

Our second ‘Take Home’ Christmas Project will introduce children to the delicate art of scroll sawing as they make an eye-catching decoration for the Christmas tree or a feature for a festive table. With hands-on guidance from our store experts, children will learn to cut from a template to produce their tree, sand to a smooth finish and then decorate with paints and glitter finishes to provide a personal sparkle to their projects. We’re sure these ‘Take Home’ trees will inspire further creativity at home - and help occupy restless hands until those Christmas presents are opened!


*Maximum of two children per adult, ages 7-14, all children must be registered to participate. Please register your interest through Eventbrite. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while in the store. All tools and materials provided at the event.

I have always been interested in woodwork from a very young age and was always fascinated in using tools to make projects around the home. In 14 years I have trained several young people in the use of machines and hand tools in order to make furniture from native hardwoods.

The business then changed for the next 6 years by venturing into antique restoration. I started working for Axminster in 2006 and has been involved with selling and demonstrating machines and hand tools in many of the shops around the country.
