Make your own pocket hole plugs. Simply use the plug cutter in a pillar drill to create you own plugs using matching or contrasting timber, glue them in, trim using a flush cut saw and sand to a finish. Cuts 9.5mm (3/8") diameter, plugs 55mm long.

InvaluableThis seemingly innocuous plug cutter is worth it's weight in gold. Pocket hole joinery leaves behind an unsightly oval shaped hole and unless you're not particularly fussed, they definitely need filling. It will produce a perfect plug, 55mm long which is sufficient for two ph's, provided that the 'sticky out' bit is carefully removed with a flush cut saw. Drill the holes into a block of end grain material to produce a long grain dowel and not the other way round, as I did the first time (doh!!). Also, it's essential to hold the material in secure vice when producing the plugs using the pillar drill.
