In Detail

These professional router tables are solid, dependable units that will give many years of useful service. The benefits of using cast iron for the manufacture of machine tables are well known, especially where vibration damping and stability are paramount. The quality of the surface grinding on this 815 x 615 x 40mm top is superb, offering little resistance when passing stock across the table during use. If you have room in your workshop for a full sized router table, you will wonder how you managed without one. There are many complex routing operations that can only be carried out using a table set-up. The aperture in the table tops is designed to accept our router elevator and when fitted with this unit you will have an excellent versatile set-up. Both tops feature a groove to accept a mitre fence attachment and are pre-drilled to accept the fence, leg stand and optional dust collection box.

The fence is a superb quality single aluminium section supplied with a transparent dust port for efficient extraction from above the table. Provision is made for the fitting of guards and accessories with a T-slot at both the top and front of the fence. An adjustable transparent guard is included for your safety. Adjustable scales are provided for attachment at either side of the table and the fence is attached to these and locks into place at the required position. A scale is also provided for the top of the fence with the zero position at the centre. Adjustable in-feed and out-feed fences attach to either side of the aluminium section and the central aperture can be opened and closed according to the diameter of the cutter in use. Fence measures 904 x 90mm high.

The UJK Technology professional leg stand is of sturdy construction with a foot operated retractable castor for excellent mobility around the workshop. A neat rack is provided for keeping your most popular router cutters to hand and provision is made for storage of the supplied mitre fence assembly. Stand height approximately 890mm.

Excellent machine with a lot of options to suit different budgets

The old adage, you get what you pay for certainly rings true here. I persuaded my wife to buy me this for Christmas so loaded it with every extra you can get. It is worth following Peter Parfitts videos on youtube to help with the assembly and set up. I also bought the Trend T11 to go with it and thats where the issues started. The UJK elevator base which is a must if you want repeatability only locates the router with 2 screws so I drilled and tapped the router base to accept another 2 screws. Be very careful not to tighten the screws until you have centred the router in the UJK base, I used the T11 30mm centreing pin and a vernier to get it within 0.1mm. I also had to remove the handles and the router depth stop to allow the base to be wound all the way down. If you don't do this the Axminster collet extension, which is a must is not easily accessible from the top. A reviewer mentioned vibration with the T11- I had this and it was down to the bearing housing on the T11 being loose! A quick nip with a phillips screwdriver cured that. I also cut the excess cable off the T11 so I did not have loads of cable in the extractor box or tied up outside. The elevator I liberally coated with PTFE spray before loading into the table, Like everything else monthly maintanence should keep this going for years. The whole unit went together with no issues, all then holes lined up beautifully. I have pushed some large boards through this and have made some beautiful doors. I am really pleased with the result so all in all a worthwhile investment.

Good and solid but not quite perfect

I've had this for several months now and am very satisfied with it after the torture of setting the router lift up. It is a fiddle but can be done once you sort out what you are doing. Read the other reviews for the 'how'. I do wonder whether a Trend T11EK with the above the table height adjuster might have been a better value buy with the same results. It's apity there is not an option for which mitre fence to have rather than getting the normal one and having to buy the precision version too (the other one just gathers dust). The heavy weight cast iron table is brilliant, the wheels might be better is all three rotated as the space i have is 'snug'. The staff in the store were excellent. A bit pricy but so much better than the Trend one I had.

Nice piece of kit

After a lot of soul searching to try to justify spending this sort of money I finally bit the bullet and ordered the full spec cast iron table,
I have a few little gripes with it firstly it came no assembly instructions what so ever I spoke to Axminster who emailed them to me, I
Must admit it was very simple, levelling the route lift is a pain I couldn't get the left hand rear corner down because of what seemed to be
A slight twist in the plate so I put the right hand side in the vine & gave I a little bit of a twist which rectified the problem and it now fits flush
I used four six mm bolts with locking nuts under them either side of of the securing bolts in the centre of the plate otherwise when you tighten it all up it all pulls out of shape. The centre transport wheel on the front of the table is about useless as it goes over centre when you lock it down then when you go to release it you need to take some of the weight off of it by lifting the table because it's over centre and the lever is digging in to the floor and then try to flick it back with your foot, I have spoken to Axminster about it they were not interested ?.
Having said all that I must admit now having used it to make a few raised panel doors I am really pleased with its performance I found the fence a bit of a fiddle to set up to do the end grain work using the mitre fence so I made up a sled to work directly of the fence, interesting enough if you watch Axminster's video on making doors using this router table that's what their expert chap does, I may invest in their fine fence adjusters ,the router lift is just brilliant I will make you wonder how you ever managed before, I did buy their shaft extension to replace my trend one which was running out of true by about 12 thou, and I must say it is a lovely piece of engineering, all in all not the cheapest table on the market but having had a few I must say you only get what you pay fort

I purchased the professional router table with cast-iron top and elevator insert, to replace my original Trend router table.
Absolutely no problem with the quality of the stand and top or elevator build quality.
However the vibration that sets up when using the assembled kit is quite frightening, even when using the smallest of cutters, I have to slow my Trend T11 router speed down for fear that the assembly will shake itself to bits!
