In Detail

The fastest adjusting frame clamp on the market. Completely knurled for good grip, the speed-clamping nuts are designed to let you make fast adjustments, yet hold securely when you tighten them. They are cross drilled to slide easily on the rods until they come up against a corner clamp; then their threads engage. To release them, you just have to back them off a turn or two and they are then free sliding again. The speed clamp includes four corners (strong, glass-filled nylon with brass inserts), four speed clamping nuts and four 1/4" UNC threaded rods that will clamp up to 585 mm square. To increase clamping capacity to 1,120 mm square or 1,650 mm by 585 mm rectangle, an extension set is included; it contains four 1/4" UNC threaded rods and four coupling nuts. The rods and coupling nuts have a black-oxide finish. Made in Canada.

Great aid to framing -simple and very effective

This worked straight out of the box. Arrived in stout board tube promptly. Really simple to use. As always only the most accurate mixtures join properly. I cut mine with a Nobex saw and blade. Recommended.

Holdin Box

I am being very facetious regarding the previous review, which I completely agree with. This is the perfect tool to hone your woodworking skills and making your own rectangular box!!

Great Clamping System

I've made countless frames with this clamp system, and all have been perfect thanks (in no small part) to the accuracy and speed of this clamp. The sliding nuts are a great idea, making things quicker, cleaner and more accurate.
Quick tip - it's easy to buy lengths of extra rod for a few quid online, so in theory you can clamp any size frame you require (I have!)
One mark lost on features due to the cardboard box it's supplied in. There are lots of little bits (the sliding nuts, rod connectors, corners) that can escape from a tatty, bashed about cardboard box, so a nice solid case would make it perfect and more in line with the Veritas high-end reputation (and price).

Excellent product, good value for money

I wasn't sure how the quick release nuts would work, but they're very effective and give you so much more time to align things correctly. The rods need degreasing, but I'd rather this than have them rusty on arrival (as I've had with other products). A trial run suggests it's going to be very useful.

I hadn't realised how low the corners are (27mm), and it will be interesting to see how it works on taller boxes.

Simple but effective

A bad workman might well blame his tools but the right tool can make a bad workman look and perform a lot better. And I say that as someone with far more enthusiasm than ability. I want to make picture frames, nothing too taxing or complicated - or so I thought. Two years of trying and I've finally got a couple of frames that I'm happy with, all neat joints and - most importantly - square! I've used various corner clamps, some bought, some made, strap clamps and none of them have helped me to glue up and secure even a most basic frame with all faces flush and at ninety degrees. Some involved so much faffing around the glue had lost it's adhesiveness long before all the pieces were aligned. First time out, I tried a dry test run and could see the frame pop into square as I screwed the ingeniously designed locking nuts into place. And it was all so quick to set up. Happy with that, I loosened two corners, removed a piece at a time, applying glue, replacing and re-tightening et voila, worked like a dream! I was taught the importance of using the right tool for the job and with so many just not fit for purpose it's great to find one that is as effective as it is simple. Simply wonderful.
