In Detail

Chair Doctor Glue does exactly what the name implies - it fixes chairs. If a chair has a loose rung an injection of Chair Doctor Glue will first swell the rung and then bond it in position. The secret is the low viscosity. It soaks into the end grain, swells the wood then 'freezes' the wood in its swollen state as it cures. A film of dry glue is left on the walls of the wood cells preventing contraction. The glue can penetrate the narrowest of cracks and is supplied in a bottle with a micro dropper applicator tip which lets you place the glue accurately. For regular cabinetmaking PVA adhesive is the best choice; but for fixing loose joints where disassembly is not an option Chair Doctor Glue is the most suitable. Available as a 57ml(2fl.oz) bottle or the Pro Kit which contains 114ml(4fl.oz) of glue, syringe and three different injection needles (1.25, 0.9 and 0.5mm).

Very impressed

My 1960's wooden framed sofa was getting rather wobbly in the joints so I used this and it's been great!

On the joints I could almost separate, I grilled pilot holes into the dowel holes so I could use the syringe directly deep into the joint. I then use the ratchet strap to keep things tight and we have no wobbles.
On the firm joints, I simply use the smallest needle to inject the glue directly into the joints. It was amazing how much I managed to push into all the hidden crevices. The sofa should have another 40 years in it!

Loose hammer head tightened

Bought this recently (pro kit) as a "postage top-up" for free carriage. As yet haven't used it on a chair, but seems to work well re-securing a loose hammer head. Washed out needle and syringe thoroughly straight away. Similar blunt needles can be purchased from "rapid electronics " (no connection).

Needles dry up

The glue is working well, as pointed out the needles dry up, use "not to fine" syringe needles 0.7 or 0,9 mm , You can buy them at the farmacy, I can anyway ( I'm a doctor)
If they don't want to sell them to You ask Your doctor, I have helped some fellow woodworkers with precription, or giving them some from my surgery
They come in handy in many moiments with gluing!

Worked well for me

It took time to get used to the very liquid consistency . I have repaired many chairs with this product. It is great that loose chairs do not need to be taken apart. The applicator syringes wash out well with warm water. I would like to buy a bottle of just the glue. Can't seem to do that. Don't need the whole kit again!!

Not something I'd buy again

One of the few 'misses' in the Veritas range. Ineffective too often to depend on.
