The popular Adirondack chairs do have a downside to them, their bulk, making indoor storage difficult and transport nearly impossible. No longer; we now offer plans for a folding Adirondack chair. Designed with all the same features that make the fixed chair so comfortable, this one folds to only 300mm deep. When folded, it may be hung on a wall or stacked with others. Folding the chair is as simple as lifting the seat back upward out of two pockets and closing the chair flat. Because fully threaded bolts at the pivot points would cause premature wear in the wood, we offer a stainless steel hardware pack consisting of six custom-made bolts with matching locking nuts and flat washers. The bolts are manufactured with the ideal combination of head style, material and thread length for use with this plan.

Excellent Design and Appearance.Beautiful chairs. Made both using 8x1 Machine Quality white P.B.S. to 3/4. Light Teak stain and lots of yacht varnish. Two points to consider. If you order the ironmongery, don't use the nuts supplied. When they lock on they will not retract if you want to make interim adjustments. Use your own nuts c/w spring washers. The second point is for elderly sitters. The chairs are comfortable and relaxing but when you are seated, your bum is only 8" above ground while your shins are vertical. This means that you need good arm and shoulder strength to hoist yourself to a standing position.
