In Detail

Manufactured by Veritas®, Parf dogs were designed by Peter Parfitt, an online reviewer and regular contributor to woodworking magazines. Parf dogs let you take advantage of the CNC produced grid of holes on the Festool MFT/3 multifunction table. The dogs are available in two sizes: 10mm high bench dog(504542) and 70mm (504543) high Parf dogs. By using a combination of bench dogs and Parf dogs to position your work and guide rail, you can easily achieve accurate repeatable cuts at 45° and 90°. Machined from stainless steel, each dog has a post that fits into the 20mm holes of the MFT/3 table top. Each size of dog is supported on the surface of the bench by a thicker boss or collar, 25mm in diameter and 10mm high, which provides a good bearing surface and stability in use. For additional security, each dog has a threaded hole to fasten it from below the table with an MFT3 accessory clamping knob (not included) or an inexpensive knob available separately.

The two types of dog can be used for a variety of different purposes. Aside from its use as a low-profile stop, the small dog can be inverted and inserted from below the table top to exploit its M8 threaded through hole as an anchor point. The bench dogs can also be used to accurately set up the fence and guide rail on the MFT3 and the Parf dogs are great for making trammels for circular or arched router guidance. If you don't own a Festool table then a super accurate DIY cutting table can be produced utilising the 102278 Parf Guide System and 19mm MDF sheet.

Look good but lousy fit, so useless !

Just bought a set of these (2 short, 2 long) to use in tabletops drilled with the parf guide system. I wanted a set of long dogs to use with the nifty little UJK spring clips that keep the saw track tight to the dogs so I bought 2 + 2 to ensure the diameters were all consistent. I've been using tops drilled with the Axminster - Parf guide system for some time with some ebay aluminium dogs that fit perfectly. The fit of these Veritas dogs however is atrocious ! So sloppy as to be unfit for purpose. They're going back. I guess the lesson is take your vernier with you to the shop and measure before you buy.

Chuffed as a Bunny...and twice as happy...

I decided to write this review as I was initially put off by other reviews that said they didn't fit snuggly. I have a need, as most people who build stuff do, for extreme accuracy and decided to take a chance despite my concerns and I am now glad I did. I have a Festool MFT/3 and they do indeed fit perfectly snuggly. So much so, I've now ordered the Super dogs and guide for the Festool guide rail system; and as soon as my MFT wears out, I'll get the full Parf-guide system...

No Complaints From Me

I recently bought a pair of long as well as a pair of short, and can honestly say they are so well made they will outlast me..

Rather disappointed ...

I just bought a pair of Bench dogs and Parf dogs and I'm rather disappointed ...
Indeed, their diameter is too small (19.87mm) for my Festool MFT table and there is therefore a lot of play, making them unusable for precision use. This is especially true for Parf dogs that are 7cm tall.

My Precision dogs are much more adjusted (19.97mm) and therefore much more suited to the holes of my MFT.

Perhaps the Parf dogs are well suited to the trays drilled with the Parf Guide but, for genuine Festool MFT trays, I strongly discourages them.

I have both the Bench Dogs and the Parf Dogs and they are worth every penny....and then some.
They are an absolute perfect fit in my Festool MFT/3!
And after purchasing these I stopped using the Festool protractor guide altogether and set the MFT/3 up for spot on accuracy using the dogs.
Quick, efficient and perfect every time!
