In Detail

The knife has an A2 tool-steel blade, ground to a point with a 25° bevel. It leaves a clearly incised line that serves to guide a saw or chisel when starting a cut, helping to improve accuracy. At 0.8mm thick and 8mm wide, the blade projects about 38mm from the handle. It is particularly useful for the precise transfer, as for dovetail layouts. The dual bevel means it is equally suitable for right or left-hand use. The contoured, nylon-reinforced ABS handle makes for a comfortable, controlled grip. Flats on the sides prevent the knife from rolling on a surface. Supplied with a guard to protect the tip in storage. 170mm long overall. Made in Canada

Over dressed scalpel

Mine did not arrive razor sharp; indeed, the tool was fresh off the machine grinder. However, it was easy to hone and polish to a surgical edge. Like others, I found this to be too flexible, which makes striking a deep knife face slower than it could be. On the plus side, the double edge, single bevel makes this tool ambidextrous, which is how I work when marking up. The negatives being the flexibility, and that it came un prepared. Whereas, a much cheaper scalpel would be surgically sharp, just as flexible, and fine enough to use ambidextrously even though it would be double beveled. I'll put this asside, and get a twin edge japanese knife.

Great design

My knife arrived today and it arrived super sharp! I have some experience with A2 so I did expect as much, I was glad not to be diasappointed! It's very nice to look at and has a pleasing design, Super lightweight and the handle is made from a good durable material! I;m new ot striking knives and its a little more flexible than I would have liked but not so much it actually effects its use, Just person preferance I suppose! It certainly isnt a fault and I;m very pleased with my purchase! : )

Great for amateur and professional alike

This is an excellent tool, well made and razor sharp. The slightly longer and narrower blade does indeed enable better access when marking out dovetails and other fine work such as modelling. Good price too. Highly recommended!

Great item for professional and amateur alike

This is an excellent tool, well manufactured, nicely balanced and razor sharp. The longer than normal blade, coupled with its low profile, does indeed allow better access for dovetails and other fine work. Great price too. Highly recommended!
