In Detail

These really are superb screws for high quality work. The Torx head has two major advantages. Hardly any pressure is required to keep the screwdriver tip in the head recess, virtually eliminating the chances of camming out. The transmission of the driving force is radial rather than axial, so less effort is needed, making them easier to drive by hand or by enabling more screws to be driven per battery charge. Zinc yellow passivated plated wood screws with a self countersinking head. They have deep sharp threads that cut into the wood dividing the fibres rather than simply forcing their way through, and a penetrating tip requiring no pilot hole or pre-drilling. These screws are heat treated to ensure they are hard and resistant to snapping. Lubricated with a wax coating to minimise heat and aid insertion. For use in soft or hard wood, MDF or chipboard. Volume discounts apply to a mix of these items. N.B 100m and 120mm lengths are partial threaded. Box of 200.

Torx Screws 3.5 x 20mm / 30mm

Good strong screws,

Seriously, go buy these, they make putting screws in things fun

I will never go back to using non torx head wood screws, these are almost too easy to drive into anything. They are surprisingly sharp, easier on me, easier on the driver, and probably easier on whatever you're putting the screw in to as well. Considering they're not that much more expensive than standard screws, why bother with the effort of pilot drilling and struggling to stop the screw/driver camming out? I'd still advise pilot drilling anyway as it makes it easier to keep the screw going straight, but it's no longer necessary. And don't forget that they're self countersinking, no more struggling to find the countersink bit, and having to switch to it constantly. Only problem is that it's too easy to drive them in too far, you actually have to be careful and pay attention.

Best investment I've made in a while.

Darn good screws

In combination with my 18v De Walt impact driver, these dive through softwood [and some hardwoods] without pilot holes or cam out like a welshman through woollybacks. Have to take some care not to go straight through the shed wall. Highly recommended. Especially with a high voltage driver.

Bought a number of these screws a few weeks back for a kitchen project. Very Impressed, sharp threads for a good drive combined with the self countersinking heads made for a top quality finish. Top quality screws at an amazing price.
