Package comprises 1,800 WoodSpur Torx Head Premium self countersinking wood screws, an Axminster Trade Torx strip with 10 TiN coated screwdriver bits and a Woodspur organiser case.
Tried, tested and immensely popular, the Torx head has two major advantages. Hardly any pressure is required to keep the screwdriver tip in the head recess, virtually eliminating cam-out. The transmission of the driving force is radial rather than axial, so requires less effort. They are easier to drive by hand, or alternatively a cordless screwdriver will drive more screws per battery charge.
These are zinc yellow passivated plated with a self countersinking head. They have deep sharp threads that cut into the wood dividing the wood fibres rather than simply forcing their way through, and a penetrating tip requiring no pilot hole or pre-drilling. These screws are heat treated to ensure they are hard and resistant to snapping. Lubricated with a wax coating to minimise heat and aid insertion. For use in soft or hard wood, MDF or chipboard.
The Axminster Trade Torx Strip is a pack of 10 trade rated, TiN coated, high quality screwdriver bits, in a handy plastic strip holder, covering all common Torx screw sizes: 2 x T15, 3 x T20, 3 x T25, 2 x T30.
1,800 screws as follows:
3.0 x 16mm x 200
3.5 x 25mm x 200
3.5 x 30mm x 200
3.5 x 35mm x 200
4.0 x 15mm x 200
4.5 x 25mm x 200
4.5 x 50mm x 200
5.0 x 45mm x 200
6.0 x 60mm x 200
By increasing the size of the head where it meets the body makes these screws much stronger. This minimises the risk of the head shearing under the final tightening torque.
The tip cuts as it penetrates and the initial portion of the thread engages immediately. The sharp point helps when placing the screw and prevents skating.
After plating, the screws undergo a further coating to reduce friction. Lower friction needs less power, meaning more screws driven on a single battery charge. The thread slices effortlessly through the timber without tearing the fibres, making for a much stronger fixing.
